Paul here, once again regaling you with tales of our recent foray aboard the P&O Iona into the heart of the Norwegian Fjords. But today, we’re letting the views do most of the talking. And why? Because a picture is worth a thousand words and, in the case of the fjords, probably a few more.
The Majestic Marvel of Nature
Norway, with its rugged landscapes, dramatic cliffs and deep-blue waters, presents a breathtaking tableau that seems like Mother Nature’s masterclass in painting. And if you’re hopping onto the Iona, aiming for the best views, let me assure you, you’re in for an absolute treat!
Unexpected Bonus Views
You might recall from our itinerary that on Day 3, we had planned to stop at Stavanger. But the winds had other ideas. Yet, every cloud has a silver lining! The bonus sea day led us to Alesund meaning we could be there for the sunrise. The sight was something right out of a dream.
Alesund – A Fairytale Town
Speaking of Alesund, the town itself seemed to be plucked straight out of a storybook, with its art nouveau architecture forming a charming backdrop to the azure fjord waters.
Olden’s Serene Beauty
Then there was Olden. Gentle valleys nestled between towering peaks, and placid waters reflecting the skies, it felt like stepping into a painting.
Haugesund: Where the Ocean Meets the Skies
Haugesund was a delightful contrast, where the vast expanse of the ocean seemed to merge with the vastness of the sky, blurring the line between reality and reflection.
All About Those Scenic Shots
But without further ado, here are some of our choicest shots from the trip. These photos, my friends, are what postcards are made of!
Conclusion
Embarking on the P&O Iona’s Norwegian Fjords cruise was like stepping into a live gallery of nature’s finest artwork. Kim and I came back with memories, experiences, and yes, a gallery of splendid photographs. If you’re ever on the fence about this cruise, remember, it’s not just a journey; it’s a visual banquet!
Stay tuned for more tales and snapshots from our adventures. And remember, the best views are not seen from the window, but experienced with the soul! Safe travels and happy snapping!
